The Hong Kong TradeDevelopment Council (TDC) is expecting more than 400 exhibitors from 20countries to attend this year's Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FilMart),a 15% increase on last year.

The market, which celebratesits 10th anniversary this year, is running one day longer than usual(March 20-23) following comments from buyers and sellers that last year's eventwas useful but too short.

As last year, the market isan anchor event of "Entertainment Expo Hong Kong" designed to boost developmentof Hong Kong's creative industries. However some of the Expoevents, including the Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) and the HongKong Film Awards will take place slightly later than the market this year,stretching the showcase to one month (March 20 - April 19).

The opening ceremony of theEntertainment Expo and the "Gala Evening" of the Hong Kong Film Awards willboth take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on March 20.The evening, expected to draw a host of Hong Kong stars, will also celebrate the 10th edition of FilMart, the25th Hong Kong Film Awards and the 30th edition of theHKIFF.

In addition to film and TV companiessetting out stalls, this year's FilMart will feature a "Digital EntertainmentPavilion" and an "Audiovisual Equipment and Post-production Services Pavilion",along with the usual array of business matching and one-stop consultationservices.

In keeping with the market'stheme of multimedia convergence, the TDC and music industry body IFPI will alsopresent the Hong Kong Music Fair to run concurrently with FilMart. Around 40companies will promote their music works to Chinese and international producersat the fair.

Meanwhile, the Hong Kong AsiaFilm Financing Forum (HAF), which this year features 25 projects, will takeplace from March 20-22.

The first Expo, held at theend of March last year, was deemed a success with a record high of 2,800 buyersattending FilMart and a 30% increase in ticket sales for the HKIFF.
