Mei Ah Entertainment has acquired all Hong Kong rights to John Woo's upcoming military epic Red Cliff.

Hong Kong is the last major Asian territory to sign on for the $75m picture which is scheduled to start shooting on March 29 in and around Beijing.

Woo and his producer partner Terence Chang previously announced sales and investment deals with China Film Group, Taiwan 's CMC Entertainment, South Korea 's Showbox Mediaplex and Japan 's Avex Entertainment, which is investing along with its Beijing-based associate Chengtian Entertainment.

Takeshi Kaneshiro recently replaced Tony Leung Chiu-wai in the cast of the film when the Hong Kong star had to quit due to scheduling conflicts. The cast also includes Chow Yun-fat, Japan 's Shidou Nakamura, Taiwanese supermodel Lin Chi-ling, Chinese actress Vicki Zhao and actors Zhang Fengyi and Hu Jun.

Summit Entertainment is handling international sales on the film outside Asia and concluded several deals at the recent European Film Market in Berlin.
