Following the success of The International Film Festival of Fine Arts in Szolnok, Hungary saw another event kick off yesterday: the Titanic Film Festival in Budapest.

The tenth edition of Hungary's biggest international film festival will screen over fifty productions from twenty countries. The festival opened with a screening of Hayao Miyazaki's Berlinale winner Spirited Away and will close on October 20th with Atom Egoyan's Ararat with producer Robert Lantos present at the screening.

Festival films will be screened in nine different categories, including the Breaking Waves section, which will feature several of last year's internationally acclaimed productions, including David Cronenberg's Spider and Italian For Beginners by Lone Scherfig. This strand will also screen young Hungarian director Gyorgy Palfi's Hukkle which is the country's candidate for the Academy Award for the best foreign language film.
