Just prior to the AFM, Imageworks International closed a UK P&A and distribution deal with Film Financial Services and a New Zealand theatrical deal with Roadshow Film Distributors on The Other Side Of Heaven, the family film which Walt Disney Home Entertainment will release in North America on April 1.

Shot on location in the Cook Islands and New Zealand, the film stars Anne Hathaway (The Princess Diaries) and Christopher Gorham in the story of a farm kid from Idaho who sets sail for the island kingdom of Tonga and shares his adventures via letters and conversations with his girlfriend back home.

Imageworks is close to signing deals with Quality Films in Mexico, Bridge Rights for Benelux and with eSource for worldwide airline rights.

The film was written and directed by Mitch Davis and has grossed over $5m on its slow-burning domestic theatrical release through Excel Entertainment. "This is a wonderful family film that we at Disney are extremely excited and proud to present it,"says Dick Cook, Chairman of Walt Disney Studios, in a statement. "It takes you to an amazing locale and tells a story that touches everyone, young and old."
