India's UFO Moviez has announcedit hassuccessfully completed the installation of digital technology in more than 1,000 cinemas across India.

The company has a strong foothold in India, releasing over 600 movies in 17 languages within the last two years.

Sister company UFO International has also completed installing digitalon 21 screens across Nepal, Sri Lanka and Mauritius within the last two months.

Rajesh Mishra, CEO of UFO Moviez, says: 'In less than two years, UFO Moviez has become the world's largest satellite-based digital cinema chain with over 1,000 theatres receiving allmovies day-and-date on their premieres.'

The company has made a significant contribution to the Indian film industry by providing Indian consumers flexible programming and high-quality viewing experiences. UFO is also starting in with Hollywood fare, releasing Rambo IV in 98 theatres.

UFO Moviez, launched in association with Apollo International, is the media initiative of the Valuable Group. UFO offers end-to-end digital cinema solutions, and delivers films via satellite directly to theatres using a unique pay-per-show business model.

Recently 3i, one of the world's leading investment funds dealing in technology and innovative products, took a strategic stake in UFO by investing $24.8m (Rs1bn). The funds will be utilised to fuel UFO growth plans worldwide.

Expansion plans include branching into the UAE, Europe, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
