Boltho takes on Paramount role

Alexei Boltho, former business development manager for BBC Films, has taken on a newly created acquisitions post at Paramount Pictures International (PPI). As of August 20, he will be PPI's director, co-productions and acquisitions, working out of Paramount's London headquarters and reporting to Los Angeles-based Ellen Pittleman.

Shaevitz and Schaefer reach Summit

Summit Entertainment has hired production executives Geoff Shaevitz and Michael Schaefer as the company continues to expand its in-house film-making activities under production chief Erik Feig. Shaevitz will serve as senior vice-president of production and Schaefer will serve as vice-president of acquisitions and co-productions. Both report to Feig.

Magnolia promotes pair

Magnolia Pictures department heads Tom Quinn and Jeff Reichert have been promoted to senior vice-president roles, and will share all major responsibilities surrounding releases.

Relativity makes Tooley head of Creative

Producer Tucker Tooley has joined Los Angeles-based Relativity Media as head of creative. He will lead development and production for Relativity's single film business and oversee growth of the production team.

LaCour takes Union bank entertainment VP role

Bryan J LaCour has joined Union Bank of California's entertainment finance group as vice-president and manager. LaCour arrives from Comerica Bank, where he served as vice-president with the entertainment industries group.

CEO Peter Posne to leave Sonet film

After 23 years as CEO of Sonet Film, Peter Posne is leaving the company. As of January 1, 2008, he will be replaced by head of legal affairs and deputy manager Mathias Berggren. Sonet Film is a Swedish producer-distributor owned by Modern Times Group.

Edwards appointed VP at Murphy PR

New York independent publicity firm Murphy PR has promoted Jessica Edwards to vice-president and hired Heter Myers. Edwards joined Murphy PR in 2004, shortly after the company launched.
