Redbus Film Distribution'scomedy road movie Man About Dog iswell on its way to becoming one of the most successful Irishindependently-financed films ever.

A hit at the Irishbox-office, the Paddy Breathnach-directed film is on course to go up 7% compared to last week.Redbus estimates it will pass the $1.8m (£1m) mark by Monday, which it says makes it the second most successfulIrish-backed picture in the local market behind Intermission, which made $3.4m (Euros 2.7m). The previous numbertwo was The Magdalene Sisters, with$1.5m (Euros 1.2m).

However, Intermission and Magdalene Sisters' Irish tallies include Northern Ireland, where Man About Dog will not open until Nov19.

Man About Dog fell just 15% the previous weekend, its fourth, having risen 8% in itsthird. This is the second time in just over a month that Redbus has hit theIrish number one spot, the first being OpenWater on Sept 10.
