Three Israeli Cinematheques - Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa - will launch one of their most ambitious programmes in April - an extensive retrospective of the work of UK director Ken Loach.

Fully supported by the British Council, the programme features some 22 titles directed by Loach, spanning his feature films, TV series and single dramas. A recent Faber & Faber book, Loach On Loach, edited by Graham Fuller, will be released in Hebrew translation to coincide with the retrospective.

Loach is expected to attend the event, despite a heavy pre-Cannes schedule. Loach's Bread And Roses is expected to feature in competition at Cannes.
