Hot on its heels in dance-loving Italy was Jennifer Lopezand Richard Gere vehicle Shall We Dance',which grossed $2,989,347 for 01 Distribuzione.

The weekend's only new Italian release, Medusa Film's comedyIn Questo Mondo Di Ladri, came inseventh, earning $520,970. Top Italian film currently on release is Michele Placido'scritically-panned Ovunque Sei, whichhas earned $1,986,776 to date.

But the weekend's third biggest draw was Lucky Red's Look At Me (Comme Une Image) by AgnesJaoui, which opened on just 29 screens but earned $159,058 for a remarkableaverage of $5,485 per screen.
