Produced by Chan's JCE Movies, the US$15-20m actionadventure has the working title The Mythand also stars Tong Leung Ka-fai and hot up-and-coming Indian actress MallikaSherawat.

Chan reportedly plays an Indiana Jones style archeologist inthe film which is shooting at several locations in China and India. The filmalso shot for a few days in Hong Kong in May, but production was suspended toallow Chan to promote Walden Media's Around The World In 80 Days.

One of Hong Kong's best-known action directors, Tongdirected Chan in his first three US hits - Supercop, Rumble In The Bronx and First Strike.

The director and star were previously attached to MediaAsia's $40m Time Breaker(previously called Titanium Rain),which failed to get off the ground after a few years development. Some elementsof the discarded project are continued in The Myth, including Indian locations, although the budget andstoryline have both been altered.

Chan set up JCE last year as a joint venture with localtycoon Albert Yeung. The company's first production New Police Story, starring Chan and Nicholas Tse, is scheduled for apan-Asian release on September 24.

The company is also supporting new talent and financed actorStephen Fung's directing debut Enter The Phoenix and Kenneth Bi's Hainan Chicken Rice.
