Denys Arcand's double prize-winning Barbarian Invasions (Les Invasions Barbares) was sold to Comstock for Japan and to Artificial Eye for the UK by French sales house Flach Pyramide International.

Earlier in the festival FPI sold Barbarian Invasions to Bim for Italy Filmcopie of Switzerland, Films de l'Elysee for Belgium, Shapira for Israel and Filmgroup for Russia.

Artificial Eye also bought Alexander Sokurov's Father And Son from Celluloid Dreams and Turkish double prize winner Distant (Uzak), which was handled by the producer. Prior to the festival the UK firm also bought Samira Makhmalbaf's At Five In The Afternoon from Wild Bunch and out of competition picture The Time Of The Wolf from Les Films Du Losange.
