Veteran jack of all filmtrades Marin Karmitz is turning over the bulk of his business to son Nathaniel.Karmitz told Screen it was"change, but with continuity".

Nathaniel Karmitz has beenat MK2 for ten years and was notably responsible for making the DVD label ahit. He has just been promoted to deputy managing director and will overseeproduction, distribution, DVD and music publishing and international sales.

Marin, meanwhile, said hewould focus his interests more on development in China though he wouldn'tcomment on exactly what that might entail. He will also continue to produce.

In Cannes, MK2 isrepresenting Tale Of Cinema, HongSangsoo's competition title and Niki Karimi's Un Certain Regard film OneNight.

At the market, the companyhas a new film from Gela Babluani titled Tzameti - a thriller with Georges Babluani and AurelienRecoing. The director is already revving up his next project L'Ame Perdu DuSommet, also at MK2.

MK2 also recently acquiredIcon's On A Clear Day and theSteve Buscemi directed Lonesome Jimstarring Casey Affleck for French distribution.

In September, the companywill add to its exhibition business with six new screens in Paris across theriver from one of their existing theaters. The two will be connected via a boatwith moviegoers able to buy tickets on one bank and shuttle over to the other.
