South Korean actress LeeEun-ju was found dead in her apartment on Tuesday morning. She is believed to have committed suicide.

Born in 1980, Lee starred innine feature films since her debut in 1999, including Virgin Stripped BareBy Her Bachelors (2000) by Hong Sang-soo, Bungee Jumping Of Their Own(2001), Lovers Concerto (2002), and Korea's box-office record holder TaeGuk Gi by Kang Je-gyu.

Most recently she starred inDaniel H. Byun's The Scarlet Letter (2004), which screened as theclosing film at the 2004 Pusan International Film Festival.

Lee was said to have beenreceiving treatment for depression over the past several months. The local industry has reacted with shockand disbelief, with crowds of actors and filmmakers gathering at the mortuarywhere her coffin is held.

Lee, who graduated fromDankook University on Friday, had reportedly agreed to star in an upcoming filmand TV drama for 2005.
