Agent Sally Whitehall, formerly of Curtis Brown, has launched a new LA-based film event to recognise UK talent.

Best of Brits will be a celebration of UK films and film-makers. Whitehill said that confirmed attendees include representatives from ICM, Endeavor, UTA, William Morris, CAA, Brillstein Grey, Fuse and others.

On Oct 29, the programme will kick off at 6 pm with a short film programme of work from the Edinburgh International Film Festival, BBC Film Network, Channel 4, and the National Film and Television School. At 8 pm, Niall Heery's Small Engine Repair, winner of best film at Galway 2006, will screen.

'There's a real buzz around UK filmmakers in Hollywood at the moment, and BEST OF BRITS is a fantastic opportunity to harness this enthusiasm and launch the American careers of some of our newest stars, as well as raising awareness of the filmmaking industry in the UK,' Whitehill said.

The event is held at the ABC2 Theatre on the Disney lot (500 South Buena Vista Street, Burbank).RSVP to Whitehill at 1 310 210 2466 or sallywhitehill@gmail.com.
