Olivier Dahan's La Vie En Rose has secured 11 Cesar nominations including Best Picture and Best Actress for Marion Cotillard's portrayal of French icon Edith Piaf.

Other Best Picture contenders for France's highest film honor include Abdellatif Kechiche's La Graine Et Le Mulet, Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Parronaud's Persepolis (also up for an Oscar for Animated Feature), Julian Schnabel's The Diving Bell And The Butterfly and Claude Miller's Un Secret. Schabel, who won the directing prize in Cannes, is also nominated for a Best Directing Cesar, as well as the Oscar.

Diving Bell took a total 7 nominations while Persepolis grabbed six just ahead of La Graine with 5. (See full list below.)

Also up for the Cesar directing prize are Kechiche, Miller and Andre Techine for Les Temoins.

Vying for Best Actor are Diving Bell's Mathieu Amalric, Michel Blanc for Andre Techine's Les Temoins, Jean-Pierre Darroussin for Jean Becker's Dialogue Avec Mon Jardinier, Vincent Lindon for Anne Le Ny's Ceux Qui Restent and Jean-Pierre Marielle for Faut Que Ca Danse! by Noemie Lvovsky.

Those joining Cotillard in the Best Actress category are Isabelle Carre for Michel Spinosa's Anna M., Cecile de France for Un Secret, Marina Fois for Christine Carriere's Darling and Catherine Frot for Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt's Odette Toulemonde.

Cotillard is also nominated for a Best Actress Oscar while La Vie has garnered nods in the make up and costume design categories as well.

The 33rd Cesar awards ceremony will be held on February 22 in Paris.
