The 20th Leeds InternationalFilm Festival (Nov 2-12) has awarded its jury prize, the Golden Owl, to Belgiandirector Guillaume Malandrin's I Don't Care If Tomorrow Never Comes. A special mention went to Mohamed Al Daradji's Ahlaam.

In the Louis Le Prince shortfilm competition, Oliver Klein's Bhai Bhai took top honours with special mentions for Lluis Quilez's Avatar and Jean-Gabriel Periot's Even If She Had Been ACriminal (Et-elle ete criminelle).

The world animation awardwent to Joanna Quinn's Dreams And Desires: Family Ties with special mentions to Jonas Odell's Never LikeThe First Time and Geza M. Toth's Maestro.

The Silver Melies, part ofthe European Federation of Fantastic Film Festivals, went to Billy O'Brien's Isolation and short film Home Video by Ed Boase.

The Yorkshire short filmaward went to Abbe Robinson's Private Life.
