The 50th San Francisco International Film Festival will host the world premiere of Gary Leva's documentary Fog City Mavericks.

The eminently appropriate choice to play at the festival's 50th anniversary proceedings hails the work of George Lucas and other innovative Bay Area film-makers. Lucas and others profiled in the film will take part in a Q&A session after the screening.

As previously announced, the Star Wars creator will receive the one-time-only Irving 'Bud' Levin Award at the gala awards night on May 3.

San Francisco Film Society executive director Graham Leggat and Gaurav Dhillon, chief executive officer of online distributor and film community Jaman, also announced the launch of The International Online.

The service will allow a limited number of worldwide viewers to download select festival titles during an exclusive window following their festival screening.

The festival is scheduled to run from Apr 26-May 10. For more information visit the official site at www.sffs.org.
