Lightning Entertainment, the new LA-based sales outfit run by Richard Guardian and Mainline Releasing partners Rich Goldberg and Marc Greenberg, has acquired two new pictures for Cannes - taking worldwide rights to medieval thriller Anazapta with Lena Headey, Jason Flemyng and David La Haye and international rights to On_Line, an ensemble love story set in New York's cyber sex industry. Both films are screening in the market.

Anazapta, the second feature from Alberto Sciamma (The Killer's Tongue) is produced by Spice Factory and is a mystery tale set against the background of the Black Plague that ravaged Europe in the 14th century. On_Line, which was selected for both the Sundance and Berlin film festivals, is the debut feature of Jed Weintrob and follows six characters struggling to reconcile real intimacy with the comfort of living out fantasies online. It stars Josh Hamilton, Harold Perrineau Jr and real life webcam girl DitchKitty.

Lightning has also acquired suspense drama American Gun starring James Coburn and Virginia Madsen and the Motown music documentary Standing In The Shadows Of Motown. Mainline Releasing operates separately from Lightning as a video and TV distributor under Goldberg and Greenberg.
