Director Lisandro Alonso (La Libertad, Liverpool) will be interviewed by Screen International editor Mike Goodridge for the annual Binger Filmlab-Screen International interview at the Netherlands Film Festival that runs from September 22-October 1.

“Screen is thrilled to be teamed up with Binger on this interview with the talented Lisandro Alonso,” Goodridge said. ” With just four feature films, he has developed a unique cinematic vision that resonates across the world. It should be a fascinating session.”

Recent interviewees for the session have included directors Steve McQueen and Terence Davies and producer Pieter Jan Brugge.

This year’s Netherlands Film Festival features more than 400 films, 100 of which will be premieres, as well as workshops, panel sessions and round table discussions.

Dutch film-makers, scriptwriters, producers and actors across 16 categories will be competing for the festival’s top prize, The Golden Calf.

Producer Christine Vachon will be in conversation with Wieland Speck, director of the Panorama category at the Berlinale, and will deliver a lecture on “the position and viability of cinema in the present age.”

At the Netherlands Production Platform (NPP) 18 Dutch and European feature films in development will be presented to financiers, distributors, sales agents and commissioning editors who will assess the market potential of the projects.

The €5,000 Kodak NPP Development Prize is awarded each year to one of the Dutch entries.

Panels at the festival include:

The Dutch Angle Public Debate, with Rutger Wolfson (IFFR director), Chris Paton (Fortissimo Films), Ronald De Neef (High Point Media Group), Pim Hermeling (Wild Bunch Benelux) and Peter Bognar (Budapest Film); and

European Film Funding and CoProducing Across Europe, with Eva Hubert (Filmforderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein), Kirsten Niehuus (Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg), Simon Perry (Irish Film Board), Miroljub Vuckovic (Film Center Serbia), Manfred Schmidt (MDM Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung), Alain Begramian (CNC, France) and Doreen Boonekamp (Netherlands Film Fund).
