Lisa McLaughlin will be honoured by the Mayor and city council of Los Angeles with a lunch at a St Patrick’s Day event on Mar 17.

Previous recipients include Miss Ireland Olivia Tracey, Bing Crosby and Merv Griffin.

McLaughlin was chosen by a committee from the Irish Fair Foundation, which each year selects honourees as part of the St Patrick’s Day festivities.

The them for this year’s upcoming fifth Irish Film festival will be ‘Sea of exchange’, representing the emigration of people and films.
