ParamountPictures International has appointed Lucy Thomas as vice president, promotions,effective Nov 1.

Most recently,she had been director, International Universal Studio Partnerships for theVolkswagen/Universal Partnership, and she also served as head of internationalpromotions for home entertainment for Universal Pictures International, workingin 14 territories.

She has worked onpromotional campaigns for titles includingLove Actually, Die Another Day and Bridget Jones' Diary.

Paramount is launching its expanded international operationsin London following the restructuring of UIP, its internationaldistribution joint-venture with Universal, later this year. In the new role, Thomaswill oversee the development and implementation of promotional campaigns forall international territories.

"Lucy will be avaluable addition to the new marketing team, and brings a wealth of experiencefrom both the agency side and the distribution side of the business," said AndrewCripps, who will become president of Paramount Pictures International. "Herpassion for film and her insight into the promotional process will be atremendous asset as we start setting plans in place for the upcoming line-up ofParamount and Dreamworks titles."
