The fifth edition of Madrid de Cine’s Spanish Film Screenings offers a broad selection of new - and newish - films for more than 100 buyers and press attending the showcase.

The event, running June 20-22, brings together buyers and sellers to focus on Spanish cinema (in a similar fashion to Unifrance’s annual Paris Rendez-Vous event), with buyers also having access to a DVD library of recent Spanish product.

The blend is of recently released films, such as Mar Col’s Goya winner Three Days With The Family and local box office success Spanish Movie, directed by Javier Ruiz Caldera, as well as newer titles, such as Emilio Ruiz Barrachina’s The Disciple and David Serrano’s comedy musical With Our Without Love.

Also screening are new 3D titles, such as Alex Colls animated film The Happets and Jordi Llompart’s documentary Magic Journey To Africa, while Deaplaneta also screened its 15-minute promo of Guillem Morales’ much-anticipated chiller Julia’s Eyes.

Buyers from the likes of Magnolia Pics, Paramount Pictures International, Strand Releasing, MK2, Wild Bunch, Kinowelt, Lucky Red and Optimum are set to attend, along with press from around the world who are offered the chance to interview key talent from most of the films being screened.
