MartinCampbell told reporters on the set of CasinoRoyale February 15 that Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen would play the villain Le Chiffre. Campbelldescribed Mikkelsen as a 'terrific actor'.

The director was less forthcoming as to who would play Bondlove interest Vesper Lynd. "We have two or threeactresses in mind," Campbellsaid. "You'll have to wait and see."

A leading figure in Danish cinema, Mikkelsenis better known to international audiences for his role in director AntoineFuqua's King Arthur, in which heplayed Tristan.

Filming at Prague'sBarrandov Studios began January 30, but Daniel Craig,who plays Bond, and Judi Dench, who returns in therole of M., only recently began working together. "I only started workingwith Daniel yesterday," Dench told reporters.

Production designer Peter Lamont has built numerous sets onBarrandov's sound stages, including M.'s Londonflat, her MI6 office, and the Salon Privee.

The project is utilising several locations around the Czech Republic. Pragueis featured in Neal Purvis and Robert Wade's script,but there are other locations, including spa town Karlovy Vary.

Producer Barbara Broccoli emphasised that although theproject is filming in the Bahamas,the Czech Republicand Italy, thefranchise has not abandoned the U.K."We will be shooting at Pinewood but also in other countries," shesaid.
