Toronto-based distributor Maple Pictures has acquired all Canadian rights to director Rebecca Miller's upcoming Berlin title The Private Lives Of Pippa Lee. The film's ensemble cast features Robin Wright Penn in the title role, along with Keanu Reeves, Blake Lively, Alan Arkin, Julianne Moore, Winona Ryder and Monica Bellucci.

Adapted by Miller from her own novel, the story follows Wright Penn's dutiful 50-year-old woman as she discovers older husband Arkin's infidelity and begins a period of self-reflection and exploration of her own sensuality. The film is produced by Dede Gardner for Brad Pitt's production company Plan B and Lemore Syvan of New York-based Elevation Filmworks.

The Canadian deal was negotiated by Maple co-president Laurie May and IM Global CEO Stuart Ford on behalf of the producers and the film's financiers Winchester Capital.
