LA independent sales and financing outfit MDP Worldwide Entertainment has reported its financial results for the third quarter ended June 30, 2001, and the first three quarters of the fiscal year. The company trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Those results show a 45% increase in net income of C$837,000 ($553,000) for the third quarter, compared to C$575,000 ($380,000) for the same period in the previous year. For the nine month period ended June 30, 2001, MDP announced a net income of C$1,948,000 ($1.286m) as compared to a net loss of C$1,267,000 ($837,000) in the same period the previous year.

Operating revenues for the third quarter were C$2.766m ($1.826m) down from C$2.8m ($1.853m) for the same period last year; operating revenues for the nine month period increased by 13% to C$9.896m ($6.53m) from C$8.755m in the same period last year.

MDP, run by Mark Damon, is currently handling worldwide distribution on The Musketeer (previously known as D'Artagnan) which opens in Sept 2001 in the US through Universal Pictures, The Extremists starring Devon Sawa and Bridgette Wilson-Sampras and Feartdotcom with Stephen Dorff and Natascha McElhone.
