EXCLUSIVE: Artscope acquires Berlin Panorama entry after Forum pick-up The Delay from Rodrigo Pla
Artscope, the niche label of French sales company Memento Films International, has acquired international rights to Colombian Panorama entry Choco from first-time director Jhonny Hendrix Hinestroza.
The film explores the difficult existence of a working class Colombian woman who toils in order to buy her daughter a birthday cake. Cineplex handles rights in Latin America
Premiered in Forum, previously announced acquisition The Delay (La Demora) is Rodrigo Pla’s drama about an overworked and underpaid mother of three who is driven to abandon her senile father so she can take better care of her children. The film picked up Forum’s Ecumenical Prize and the Tagesspiegel Readers’ Prize .
Epicentre Films will handle French distribution of the drama which has already been slotted into the Guadalajara IFF and Hong Kong IFF.
