Anthony Minghella will serve as president of the international jury at this year's Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF), which takes place June 14-22.

This year's festival will also feature the second edition of contents market SIFF Mart and projects market China Film Pitch & Catch (CFPC). The latter two-day event plans to present around 30 projects from Chinese and international filmmakers to potential investors.

'We have two goals for SIFF in the next three years - to enhance the festival's market function and to support more young filmmaking talent, from China and Asia, through CFPC and the Asian New Talent Award competition,' said festival director Tang Lijun.

In addition to the two competition sections - the Jin Jue Award and the Asian New Talent Award - the SIFF line-up also includes the Film Panorama and a newly-launched Star ECO programme, exploring environmental themes.

From 2008-2010, SIFF will also launch in co-operation with the 2010 Shanghai Expo, an International Student Shorts Exhibition and Competition, echoing Shanghai Expo's theme of ' Better City, Better Life'.
