Miramax Films has acquired rights in North America, Mexico, Argentina and South Africa to Korean ancient martial arts movie Bi Chun Moo from Taewon Entertainment. The sixth highest grossing film ever in Korea, Bi Chun Moo was directed by Young Jun Kim, and as part of the deal, Miramax has acquired a first look on Young Jun Kim's next directorial effort which will also be produced by Taewon.

Bi Chun Moo is an epic story of a warrior who attempts to defy a kingdom so he can be with the one he loves. "We are excited to develop this new relationship with one of the premiere filmmakers in Korea and to further solidify our bonds with Taewon Entertainment," said Andrew Herwitz, Miramax senior vice president of acquisitions.

Herwitz negotiated the deal for Miramax. Taewon Chung negotiated on behalf of Taewon Entertainment along with Jennifer Muhn on behalf of Cinema Service, the financier and Korean distributor of the film.
