Hong Kong's Media Asia Distribution haspre-sold all French-speaking rights to Andrew Lau and Alan Mak's ConfessionOf Pain to France's MK2.

Infernal Affairs star Tony Leung Chiu-wai willstar in the $8-10m project which is scheduled to start shooting in June forpan-Asian release during Christmas 2006. Takeshi Kaneshiro (Perhaps Love,House Of Flying Daggers) has also been lined up to star.

Mak and Felix Chong, who co-scripted the InfernalAffairs trilogy, have teamed up again for Confession OfPain.

The story revolves around a policeman (playedby Leung) who enlists his former partner turned private detective to helpinvestigate the brutal murder of his father-in-law.

Lau and Mak co-directed the hugely successful InfernalAffairs trilogy and more recently action drama Initial D.Lau recently made his Hollywood debut with The Flock,starring Richard Gere and Claire Danes,for Bauer Martinez Studios.

Media Asia's slate also includes TheBanquet, starring Cannes jury member Zhang Ziyi, Johnnie To'sExiled and Pang Ho Cheung's Isabellawhich recently won a Silver Bear for music at Berlin.
