Momentum Pictures has boughtUK rights to Paul Catling's science fiction movie Tomo from Becker International. The film, which has beendeveloped and will be produced by Matthew Justice, is based on the short filmof the same name which won the international short film prize at the 2004Sundance Film Festival.

The deal was struck byMomentum's acquisitions manager Robert Walak with Becker's Iain Canning.

The film is being designedas a blend of live action and CG animation and is scheduled for delivery in2008. Catling has worked as a concept artist on films including Spider-man2, Lara Croft Tomb Raider and AlienVs Predator and as creature designeron the second and fourth Harry Potter films.

"Tomo is one of the most original science fiction conceptsthat I've read and I feel it will open up some fantastic new media andmarketing opportunities for us to explore," said Walak in a statement.
