Moviemobz, the first distribution operation which programmes its titles in theatres equipped with digital projection technology supplied by Rain Network, has acquired theatrical rights in Brazil to Jose Manuel Gonzalez's Spanish romantic drama The Sandman (El Hombre De Arena).
Moviemobz plans to release the film in theatres in the next six months; it is also scheduled for a premium pay TV window through Cine Canal by June 2009.
The deal was negotiated by Movie Avenue Internatiional's Lydia Y Segundo on behalf of the producers with Bianca Balassiano, operations coordinator and Clarisse Goulart, head of acquisitions for Moviemobz
The Sandman is the story of a group of undesirables thrown into psychiatric hospitals under the Franco regime. It stars Maria Valverde, Hugo Silva and Samuel LeBihan.
