The American Film Market (AFM) and the Cannes festival’s Marché du Film are collaborating on an exhibition and design forum and a series of AI-focused speaker sessions at next month’s AFM in Los Angeles (November 11-16).

The Innovation Hub forum was inspired by the Marche’s Cannes Next platform for business, networking and exploring the future of entertainment. It will spotlight creative and business technology tools supporting the development, financing, and production of content.

The collaboration’s AI sessions will include one on Visualizing the Future of Commercial Content: What AI Means for the Industry, with speakers from Adobe and Paramount, and another tagged AI in Action: The Platforms Transforming Filmmaking – From Creation to Distribution.

The AFM has also revealed the initial lineup of programming and speakers for its sessions programme, comprising more than 30 panels, workshops and presentations. Unfolding from November 12 to 15, the programme will include sessions on Finance I - From Packaging to Payback: Investment, Incentives & International Markets, Finance II – How They Did It: Strategies That Brought Projects to Life, Level Up: The Evolving Relationship Between Filmmaking and Gaming, Fright Club: The Power Players Behind Modern Horror and Latinos Navigating Hollywood: Challenges and Opportunities.

AFM producer the Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA) says more than 260 exhibitors, and participants from more than 70 countries, are confirmed for this year’s AFM, taking place at the Fairmont Century Plaza hotel in the Century City neighbourhood of Los Angeles.
