Online video portal agrees new content deal with India’s Venus Movies.

Dailymotion has secured a new content agreement with Indian production company Venus Movies to add more than 100 Bollywood movies to its offering.

The partnership is a bid to make the video service “the place to go for Indian film content online”.

It will also host Venus’s premium movie catalogue, which users will pay to view.

Dailymotion has nearly 6 million users in India as well as “a strong audience” of Indians living abroad, particularly in the UK.

Marc Eychenne, head of EMEA content at Dailymotion, said: “Our new partnership with Venus will provide viewers with access to a wealth of new and classic Bollywood films, wherever they are in the world.”

The move adds to Dailymotion’s existing Bollywood movies offering from partners such as Rajshri, Shemaroo, Nirvana, Cinecurry, Hungama, Lehren, Shotformat.

The online video service also hosts regional films (in languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and Malayalam) from partners such as Whackedout Media, Shotformats, Vega Entertainment.

This is in addition to the latest Bollywood news from partners like Zoomtv, Yoboho, Moviezadda, Lehren.

Dailymotion has 112 million unique visitors generating over 2 billion video views every month, according to Comscore.
