Producer to take part in series of film masterclasses ran by Intense Productions in association with UK Trade and Investment NW.
Carlos Gallardo will take part in a series of exclusive one day film masterclasses in the UK.
Run by Intense Productions, in association with UK Trade and Investment NW, the masterclasses will focus on how to make a micro budget film and sell it, covering topics including screenwriting and raising finance.
Gallardo co-wrote, starred in and produced Robert Rodriguez’s feature debut El Mariachi. He then went on to produce follow-ups Desperado and Once Upon a Time in Mexico.
Speaking alongside Gallardo will be Chee Keong Cheung, MD of Intense Productions and Intense Distribution, and Displaced producer Mark Strange.
Cheung commented: “It’s an incredible honour for us to be able to bring Carlos over to the UK. I’m very excited filmmakers both established and up and coming will have the chance to hear and learn from Carlos’ vast experience in the industry. It is an incredibly competitive business we are in and I believe it is important to share knowledge and to help filmmakers coming into the industry.”
The masterclasses will take place in Glasgow (April 28), Lancaster (April 30), Newcastle (May 1), London (May 3) and Manchester (May 5).
