Highly anticipated adaptation moves to Feb 13, 2015 from Aug 2014 release.

Universal Pictures has announced that Fifty Shades of Grey will now be released on Valentine’s Day weekend in 2015.

The highly anticipated adaptation of E L James’ bestseller, starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, was originally set for Aug 1, 2014 along with Guardians of the Galaxy.

It will now come out on Feb 13, 2015 to coincide with both Valentine’s Day and the President’s Day holiday.

Dornan recently replaced Charlie Hunnam as lead Christian Grey, with Universal and Focus Features delaying production as a result.

Fifty Shades of Grey will be directed by Sam-Taylor Johnson and produced by Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti.
