London-set thriller, starring James Franco and Kate Hudson, directed by Henrik Genz (The Killing).

Filming on thriller Good People, produced by Millennium Films, Film 360 and Material Pictures, has begun at Shepperton Studios.

Tom Wilkinson joins the cast, led by James Franco, Kate Hudson and Omar Sy, star of Intouchables.

The film centres on an American couple living in London who fall into severe debt renovating the family home. When a neighbour dies and leaves behind £200,000 in cash, they take the money and suffer the consequences.

Based on a novel by Marcus Sakey, the screenplay is written by Kelly Masterson, Paul Grellong and Christina Hodson.

It is the English-language feature debut of Danish director Henrik Genz, who has directed episodes of crime dramas The Killing and Borgen as well as Danish features such as Terribly Happy.

Good People is produced by Thomas Gammeltoft, Ben Forkner, Tobey Maguire, Eric Kranzler, and Mark Gill, with Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Matt O’Toole, John Thompson, Boaz Davidson, and Matthew Plouffe serving as executive producers. Paul Ritchie is co-producer.
