Simon Chinn, the two-time Oscar-winning producer of Man On Wire and Searching For Sugar Man, is working on a feature documentary about former movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. Embankment Films has boarded sales on the project and will launch it at Cannes next week.

Citizen Harvey (working title) is also from Chinn’s Emmy-winning cousin Jonathan Chinn (LA 92) who produces through their Lightbox banner alongside Poppy Dixon (The Imposter). Bafta-nominee Ursula Macfarlane (Captive) is directing.

The BBC is co-producing and co-financing the film. Simon Young is executive producing for the BBC, which will air the feature in the UK on BBC Two after its theatrical release. David Gilbery and Charles Dorfman are executive producing for Media Finance Capital, which Is also co-financing.

Described as a “deep dive into the Weinstein scandal”, the film will encompass the far-reaching global impact of Weinstein facing multiple sexual misconduct allegations, fuelling the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements.
