Dustin Hoffman has joined the cast of Stephen Frears’ untitled Lance Armstrong film, which is moving from Europe to the US for its final stages of shoot.

The casting marks the first collaboration between Hoffman and Frears since 1992 comedy-drama Accidental Hero.

Lee Pace also recently joined the cast which includes Ben Foster, Chris O’Dowd, Guillaume Canet and Jesse Plemons.

Frears’ film, written by John Hodge, follows Armstrong’s career from his battle against cancer through his seven Tour de France victories and the doping scandal that brought him down.

StudioCanal is fully financing the film, which Working Title is producing.

StudioCanal also handles international sales and will release the film in France, UK, Germany and Australia.
