EXCLUSIVE: Ken Loach is hoping to shoot his next film this autumn, the director has confirmed to Screen.

The Ireland-set feature has been written by Loach regular Paul Laverty, who also wrote The Angels’ Share, which last year won the Cannes Jury Prize.

As is typical on a Loach film, production details are being kept under wraps, but Loach did tell Screen: “Paul has written a script but we’re still pondering everything at the minute.

“But I hope we will shoot something in the autumn, all being well.”

The film will be produced under Loach and Rebecca O’Brien under their Sixteen Films banner.

The director’s new documentary The Spirit of ‘45 gets its world premiere in Berlinale Special.
