Maya Entertainment has acquired worldwide rights to All She Can, which premiered in this year’s Sundance dramatic competition under its original title Benavides Born.

A new cut of the film, directed by Amy Wendel and starring Corina Calderon as a high school weight lifter in a small Texas town, will be given a US theatrical release as part of the Maya Independent Film Series, a celebration of Latino themed cinema that will tour major markets this summer.

All She Can was produced by Daniel Meisel and Susan Kirr and is presented by Kapok Pictures. The deal was negotiated by Andrew Herwitz and Andrea Cannistraci of Cowan, DeBaets, Abrahams & Sheppard, LLP on behalf of the producers and by Tonantzin Esparza on behalf of Maya.
