Media Asia, Wanda to produce Renny Harlin's 'Bodies At Rest'

Media Asia has boarded Renny Harlin’s Bodies At Rest as co-producer alongside Wanda Pictures, and will also handle international sales, excluding China.

Nick Cheung, Richie Jen and Yang Zi head the cast of the Chinese-language production, which is set in Hong Kong but is currently being filmed in a studio in mainland China. Production recently started for delivery in 2018.

Scripted by David Lesser, the film follows a group of masked thugs who break into a morgue demanding access to a body that contains evidence of a crime they recently committed.

Media Asia is launching sales on the film at the on-going AFM.

Harlin, who has credits including Die Hard 2, Cutthroat Island and The Long Kiss Goodnight, relocated to Beijing in 2016 and recently directed US-China co-production Skiptrace, starring Jackie Chan. He is also directing an adaptation of Chinese video game Legend Of The Ancient Sword for China’s Alibaba Pictures.
