One Battle After Another and Sinners have emerged as the leading multiple nominees for this year’s Actor Awards, the important Oscar bellwether previously known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
One Battle scored seven nominations, a record high tally for the awards, including one for its cast as a whole as well as nods in the lead acting categories for Leonardo DiCaprio and Chase Infiniti.
Sinners made a surprisingly good showing, with five nominations including a cast nod and one for lead actor Michael B Jordan.
Among television nominees, Adolescence scored four nominations, with Stephen Graham, Owen Cooper, Erin Doherty and Christine Tremarco all recognised.
Surprising omissions included Wicked: For Good’s Cynthia Erivo, The Secret Agent’s Wagner Moura, Joel Edgerton from Train Dreams and all three leads from Sentimental Value.
Voting for winners of the Actor Awards – officially known as the Actor Awards presented by SAG-AFTRA – takes place from January 14 to February 27, with the awards ceremony set for March 1.
