Co-founder and partner Gross to exit at the end of August to concentrate on select projects.

Frank Siracusa, producer and head of leading Canadian producers Whizbang Films, has announced that founding partner Paul Gross is set to leave the company at the end of the month.

“We created some wonderful projects during my time with Whizbang and I am very proud of the contributions our company has made to our industry,” commented Gross. “But I feel the time has come to concentrate my energies on a few select projects. While I will miss Whizbang enormously, I will watch their progress with enthusiastic pride.”

Siracusa added: “Paul has played a major role in shaping the values of the company and we will miss his intelligence and incredible work ethic. His depth of understanding the art of storytelling helped set the bar in deciding the projects Whizbang participates in. We will continue to support Paul in his commitment to follow his passion projects.”

Gross and Siracusa founded the company in 1999 and have enjoyed box office success with the likes of Men With Brooms and Hobo With A Shotgun. Whizbang recently locked Cottage Country, directed by Peter Wellington and starring Malin Akerman, Lucy Punch and Tyler Labine, with theatrical release plans to be announced soon.
