Canada and Madrid-based international sales agent Pink Parrot Media (PPM) has been in talks with AFM buyers on new animation titles Scarygirl and 4 Days Before Christmas featuring voice casts with Sam Neil and Colm Feore.
Sam Neill (Jurassic Park) leads the voice cast on the CG-animated Scarygirl about a young girl with a tentacle-like arm who sets off to rescue her giant octopus father after he is kidnapped.
Arriving at the City of Light controlled by the mysterious Dr. Maybee, she discovers that all is not what it seems and this incredible new world is full of danger and answers to questions she never knew she had. Ricard Cusso directs with co-director Tania Vincent.
Jillian Nguyen (Clickbait), Rob Collins (Cleverman) and Anna Torv (Fringe) round out the voice cast. Australia’s Highly Spirited (Tales From Outer Suburbia) and Like A Photon Creative (Combat Wombat) co-produced the feature, with support from Screen Queensland. Production is ongoing in Queensland and Sophie Byrne serves as producer.
Madman Entertainment will distribute in Australia and New Zealand. Sophie Byrne serves as producer and executive producers are Nathan Jurevicius and John Stevenson.
4 Days Before Christmas is in production and follows Santa Claus who after a knock to the head thinks he is Superklaus, a popular big screen superhero, and gets scammed by a businessman who wants to take over his toy workshop.
With the help of a tech-savvy 11-year-old, and his executive elf assistant, “SuperKlaus” fights back. Steven Majaury directs with co-director Miguel Miranda .
The voice cast features Harland Williams (Puppy Dog Pals, Odd Balls,) Colm Feore (The Umbrella Academy, Thor). Dario Sanchez is producing the project for Spain’s 3Doubles Producciones alongside Capitán Araña, and François Tudel from Canada’s PVP. A Spanish debut is being lined up for December 2023.
