Screen International and pre-eminent US entertainment newsletter The Ankler will, for the second year in a row, partner to publish a daily newsletter from the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.

The special Ankler newsletter helmed by Gregg Kilday will contain Kilday and Claire Atkinson’s original reporting from the festival, while also delivering select breaking news, interviews, reviews and analysis from Screen International, the longest-running daily print publication at Cannes and the festival’s pre-eminent digital news outlet. Screen will continue to publish its own daily newsletters during the festival.

The renewed partnership brings together Screen’s unrivaled expertise and understanding of the international independent film landscape with The Ankler’s audience of entertainment insiders. It also signals an increasing investment in the international market by Ankler Media, with Ankler correspondent (and Screen International senior contributing editor) Manori Ravindran covering the British and European industry and community from London.

Kilday will once again work in the Screen newsroom at the Majestic Hotel in Cannes and helm the daily joint newsletter, which will run May 15-21 and be delivered by 7:30am PT to TheAnkler’s readership. There will also be a May 24 edition covering the festival’s awards ceremony.

As usual, the Screen International team will publish eight print editions from Tuesday, May 13 to Tuesday, May 20, plus newsletters throughout the entire festival, featuring market-leading news, analysis, interviews, reviews, and our renowned jury grid. Ankler content will also be featured in Screen’s daily Cannes newsletter.

Matt Mueller, editor-in-chief of Screen International, said: “Screen is delighted to renew our collaboration with The Ankler for the Cannes Film Festival and to extend the readership of our smart, must-read festival coverage to The Ankler’s intelligent and engaged community, and vice versa. It’s a natural partnership given our shared sensibilities and complementary readerships.”

Janice Min, CEO and editor-in-chief of Ankler Media, said: “I’m thrilled to partner again with Screen, whose insight into the Cannes Film Festival is unparalleled; our audiences absolutely loved our lively, comprehensive coverage last year and we look forward to welcoming more readers to both platforms during the most important film festival in the world.”
