Tom Sherak has been re-elected president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).

The former Twentieth Century Fox executive and Revolution Studios partner, who is beginning his eighth year as a governor representing the Academy’s Executives Branch, will be serving his second consecutive one-year term as president of the US organisation, best know as presenter of the Oscars.

Past Academy president and Public Relations Branch governor Sid Ganis was elected first vice president. Writers Branch governor James L Brooks was voted into one vice president post and Phil Robinson, also from the Writers Branch, was re-elected as the other vice president.

Producers Branch governor Hawk Koch was re-elected treasurer and Actors Branch governor Annette Bening was elected secretary.
