EXCLUSIVE: Thai production company Jungka Studio has moved into international sales and sold Paween Purijitpanya’s MMA film God Skin to Well Go USA for North America.
The Thai film is an action fantasy about a delivery rider who is lured to fight at an underground arena in a desperate attempt to cover his mother’s mounting medical expenses. He unknowingly gets himself into a deadly game where fighters are injected with superhuman powers through a special yantra tattoo and become pawns controlled by the elite.
The fighting style featured in the film is a form of mixed martial arts that combines Muay Thai with movements inspired by traditional Khon dance. Handling the action sequences is the Panna stunt team, which was founded by the late master Panna Rittikrai, who was best known as the action choreographer for Thai breakout hits Ong Bak and Tom Yum Goong.
The film received its world premiere at Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal last month and is set to open locally in Thailand on August 27 through distributor M Studio.
Produced by Jungka Studio’s chief of production Surawut Tungkarak, the film was backed by Karman Line Studio, a joint venture between broadcaster Workpoint and the Major Group.
It marks the first sales title represented by Jungka Studio and has also been picked up for India (Indo Overseas Films) and airlines (Eagle Films). Panu Aree serves as international distribution consultant.
The cast is led by Gee Sutthirak Subvijitra from 4 Kings II and My Boo, Minnie Phantira Pipityakorn, Jaii Itkron Pungkiatrussamee, Ballchon Tanawat Cheawaram and Pae Arak Amornsupasiri.
Director Paween previously collaborated with Jungka Studio as director of 2024 Netflix sci-fi series Tomorrow + I and as producer of 2025 feature The Stone. Earlier in his career, he directed Body and 4Bia for GMM Tai Hub (GTH).
Jungka Studio’s production credits also include Netflix film The Debt Collector, which was made available globally on the platform on July 23, Netflix series Analog Squad, and features The Stone, My Boo and My Boo 2.
