Trans Atlantic Partners (TAP), an international coproduction training program for Canadian and European producers, has announced its inaugural line-up. A partnership between Halifax-based Strategic Partners and Germany’s Erich Pommer Institut, TAP will feature thirty film and television projects, including French family feature Inside from Laurent de Bartillat and producer Geoffroy Grison, the team behindThe Vanishing Point (CeQue Mes Yeux Ont Vu).

Another project is The White Circus, a feature from the writing-directing team behind the Academy Award-nominated short drama Madame Tulti Pulti, Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski. Marco Mehlitz of Berlin-based Lago Film will also present a case study of his most recent film Mr. Nobody, a German-French-Belgian-Canadian co-production from writer-director Jaco van Dormael starring Jared Leto, Diane Kruger, Sarah Polley and Ryhs Ifans.

The first TAP module will be held in Berlin in June and the second in September in Halifax during the Strategic Partners coproduction market. Producers from Austria, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece and Romania will be in attendance along with peers from across Canada.

Strategic Partners director Jan Miller said in a statement, “With such a strong line-up of producers and their projects coming together with internationally renowned co-pro experts such as Niv Fichman, Guendalina Ponti, Ilann Girard, Bernie Stampfer, and Phil Hunt, producers will gain first-hand knowledge of practices and trends that will strengthen their co production opportunities and increase the odds for successful films that come out of transatlantic co-productions.”
