Ostojic's No One's Son has been nominated as Croatia's entry for the Best Foreign Language Oscar despite not having an official distributor.

Arsen Anton Ostojic's No One's Son (Niciji Sin) has been chosen by the Croatian Association of Film Workers as Croatia's foreign language film candidate for the 2009 Academy Awards.

The crime drama tells the story of a crippled soldier in search of his true national and paternal identity. Although the film won six Golden Arenas at the national Pula Film Festival, including best film and best director, it still has no official distributor attached. It will have to hurry to do so if it is to comply with the Academy's regulations.

Other titles in competition for the nomination were: Dalibor Matanic's Kino Lika; Dejan Acimovic's I Have To Sleep, My Angel (Moram Spavat' Andjele); and Lukas Nola's True Miracle (Pravo Cudo).
