Regional screen agency NorthWest Vision will host a free conference in Liverpool for film-makers in the Northwest of England.

The Film Focus conference,at Liverpool's FACT on Oct12, will look at the opportunities and challenges for feature film-makers inthe region. Panelists will include film-makers Carl Hunter, Juliet Mckeown, andJohn Maxwell; Steve Perrin, deputy head of distribution for the UK FilmCouncil; and producers Michael Rose and Martin Pope of Magic Light Pictures.

Topics to be discussedinclude production in the Northwest, a case-study of making Sparkle, finding funding, reacting toaudience demand, and breaking into feature films.

"Our film focus day willprovide an excellent opportunity for Northwest film industry professionals todiscuss and explore topical issues affecting the film industry in our regionand provide a platform for planning the future," said Alice Morrison, chief executiveof North West Vision. "We hope as many regional filmmakers as possible canattend."
